India’s legendary digital payment company Paytm is planning to launch messaging services to compete with Facebook-owned Whatsapp soon. According to the report of Hindustan Times, it is believed that this service may be launched by the end of August. Paytm, owned by Softbank and Alibaba, will try to attract the people of India through this service given in their app. On Paytm app is being given the facility prior to the travel booking to shopping.
How will the messaging service of Paytm?
Audio, video and text files will be sent through Paytm’s messaging service. At present, there are 225 million users. Whatsapp itself is planning to launch digital payment service in India itself. Prior to this, Hike, the country’s second messaging platform, provided the facility of electronic payment service in its app to promote digital payments in the country.
After the announcement of the abatement of 500 rupees and 1000 rupees notes by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year, the trend of e-payments has increased in India. Since then, the market share of Paytm has increased rapidly. The Wall Street Journal has first disclosed this scheme of Paytm. However, no response has been received by the company on this issue yet.
